Alban Meha is perhaps the answer to the Albanian fans players in regards to replacing Ervin Skela, a long-time favourite of the supporters. Meha is a good substitute for Skela as he is very good at set-pieces while possessing the ability to dictate the tempo of the game and creating chances. Luckily, Meha’s expression of interest to play for Albania, did not fall into deaf ears, and eventually the FA done what was required and eventually handed Meha a cap against Cyprus in the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Meha started playing at Stuttgarter Kickers 2 in 2005 after having been with them for 10 years as a youth.

The following season found him at VfL Kirchheim where he featured 54 times scoring 16 goals in the process. The 2007 season saw him move again, this time to SSV Reutlingen where he added another 82 appearances to his total appearances scoring another 16 goals in the process in the 3 seasons that he played for them.

In 2010 season he moved again, this time to Eintracht Trier, playing 33 times for them and scoring 15 goals, a ratio of almost a goal for every two games.

Undoubtedly his deadly finishing impressed the management at SC Paderborn who snapped him from Trier. He has been at SC Paderborn since, adding another 46 appearances to his total and scoring 7 goals in the process.

Meha’s ability to quickly establish himself as a regular at Paderborn and contribute to their campaign and the call-up for the Albanian National team are bound to raise his profile, leading to anticipated offers from teams in the higher echelons in the next few seasons – which can only help in improving his game.
